18 <P>This section is designed for experienced Spider sysops who want to install
19 Spider from scratch. It is simply a check list of things that need to be
20 done without any explanations. The name in brackets at the end of each line
21 is the user that should be doing that process.
24 <LI>Login as root</LI>
25 <LI>Get the additional CPAN modules and install them (root)</LI>
26 <LI>Create the "sysop" user and set a password (root)</LI>
27 <LI>Put the Spider tarball in sysop and untar it (root)</LI>
28 <LI>ln -s sysop/spider /spider (root)</LI>
29 <LI>groupadd -g 251 spider (root)</LI>
30 <LI>Add any more users you need to the group entry in /etc/group (root)</LI>
31 <LI>Set the permissions on the spider tree (root)</LI>
32 <LI>Fix permissions on ax25_call and netrom_call (root)</LI>
33 <LI>Login as the sysop user</LI>
34 <LI>cd to /spider (sysop)</LI>
35 <LI>mkdir local (sysop)</LI>
36 <LI>mkdir local_cmd (sysop)</LI>
37 <LI>cp perl/DXVars.pm.issue local/DXVars.pm (sysop)</LI>
38 <LI>cd to /spider/local and edit DXVars to set your details (sysop)</LI>
